Starting work can be a scary thought, but don't worry, at McDonald's we understand just what it's like to be the new kid on the block. In fact 80% of our Managers started their careers as Crew!
You'll get all the support and training you need to make a go of it. And the good news is that the training you get as a McDonald's Crew Member will help you in all areas of your life, not to mention impressing future employers, whatever career you have in mind long term.
So what kind of training are we talking about?
- Practical skills – delivering exceptional customer service, handling money, using equipment and product quality control to name just a few.
- Time management skills – organising yourself so you're always prepared for business patterns and of course punctual!
- Team skills – learning to work alongside other Crew Members and contributing to the team.
- Communication – interaction with colleagues, the management team and our customers.
At McDonald's we firmly believe in 'hands on' training, so you'll receive a combination of video-based training and on the floor training. You'll be trained by an experienced Crew Member or Crew Trainer who will be able to assist you and answer questions you may have.
On an ongoing basis you will have Station Observation Checklists completed to assess your performance as well as formal Performance Reviews to provide you with feedback on how we think you're progressing.
As a Registered Training Organisation, we also offer externally accredited traineeships.
If you decide that you want to take things to the next level, your Crew member experience is the ideal stepping stone to a management career at McDonald's.
