Sean started out as a McDonald's Crew person 23 years ago. Since then McDonald's excellent career opportunities and world-class training have taken him around Australia and around the world!
Today, a large part of Sean's role is making sure that McDonald's Crew around Australia receive the training and development they need and of course, have a fun environment to work in! Watch Sean's video:
Eliza - New Crew Member
3 weeks, Mount Colah
As this is Eliza's first job she wasn't sure what to expect at McDonald's. So far she's found that she's caught on really quickly. The training's given her some great skills (such as organisation and how to handle situations and people) that also come in useful at school. Eliza says her Crew mates are a lot of fun and always willing to help her out - and it's a really rewarding experience to earn her own money. Watch Eliza's video:
Kelli - Crew Member - recently returned to work
16 months, Ballina
Kelli was nervous about returning to work after her two young children started school. But she says with the friendly people and plenty of training it wasn't long before she got her confidence back and started to enjoy herself. For Kelli, the best thing about working at McDonald's is that the hours fit in around family life and the extra money means she can do special things with the kids during holidays and at weekends. Elliot - Experienced Crew Member
2 years, Bomaderry
Elliot says he never expected to enjoy the 'people' part of his career at McDonald's so much. He's also impressed with the great skills he's learnt and is currently taking a Traineeship (Certificate II in Retail Operations). The shift patterns allow him plenty of time for his other great passion in life - acting. Elliot's really taken advantage of the training and development opportunities at McDonald's and since making this video has been promoted to Trainee Manager. Watch Eliot's video:
Briony - Assistant Manager
3 years, Castle Hill
A typical day for Briony not only involves managing the Crew on shift to deliver outstanding Quality, Service and Cleanliness, but also lots of behind the scenes activity such as workplace safety, Crew rostering and ordering of stock. But it's not all work - she also gets to have some fun organising Crew social events! Briony is currently progressing through the second stage of McDonald's Management Development Program, learning the theory behind food costs, stock control and hiring. She says the training she's been given has helped her develop her leadership and communications skills - as well as boosting her confidence. Watch Briony's video:
