What's the secret of McDonald's success? We give our customers 'good food fast', priding ourselves on our Quality, Service and Cleanliness which sets us apart from our competitors. Working for us you'll play an important role in making that happen. Here's how:
Right on time
We can't stress enough how important this is. Why? Because being late for your shift puts unfair pressure on your team mates and that means that our customers might not get the service they expect. So you need to be sure you can be right on time for all of your rostered shifts.
Looking good
At McDonald's appearance counts. This means a neat, clean and wrinkle-free uniform, plus good personal grooming. Feeling smart gives you confidence too. For more info check out the Employee Handbook.
Team talk
Whatever you do at McDonald's will involve being part of a team. You don't have to be the loudest or the smartest. You just need to do your job the best you can, be ready to help out your fellow Crew (especially when it's busy) and communicate clearly.
All in the attitude
Being polite, friendly and respectful with both customers and your team mates is a top priority. It helps create the McDonald's experience that everyone enjoys. It's also what makes McDonald's a great place to work!
Squeaky clean
Cleanliness is very important at McDonald's. So you'll find we're committed to our Clean As You Go (CAYG) and strict hygiene policies. Everyone has their role to play in keeping our restaurants and their surroundings squeaky clean.
The Roles
Now for a glimpse of what you'll be doing. See below for a brief overview of what is involved in each role:
Crew Member
As a Crew member you could be working in the back area as part of the team preparing the full menu range of products from cheeseburgers to Deli Choices rolls, ensuring every item meets our high quality standards every time. You'd be responsible for the food safety/hygiene and cleanliness of your area too.
Or, you could find yourself on the front counter or in Drive Thru, working with the rest of the team to serve all of our customers with "good food fast", ensuring each customer walks away delighted. Food hygiene and cleanliness doesn't stop at the kitchen door though, so you'd have a role to play here as well.
Dining Area/Customer Care
Working in the dining area you would be responsible for interacting with our customers to ensure their visit is as enjoyable as possible, liaising with the front counter team or manager to resolve any issues you come across. You'd also be responsible for maintaining the high standards of cleanliness we are famous for!
McCafé
Working in McCafé you'd be responsible for preparing and serving our full range of hot and cold drinks and sweet and savoury snacks. You'd also need to ensure the area meets all hygiene and cleanliness standards.
Maintenance
Whilst the role of maintenance employees varies between restaurants, they are generally responsible for detail or deep cleaning areas of the restaurant and equipment.
Crew Trainer
Crew members who consistently demonstrate a commitment to our high standards and an ability for developing and coaching others, may be considered for promotion to Crew Trainer. As a Crew Trainer you'd be responsible for training new Crew and following up on an ongoing basis to ensure all procedures are adhered to and standards met.
